Dear Friends,

This year, our industry has been turned upside down. While most performances this season have had to be postponed and even cancelled, there is incredible optimism for this new DIGITAL future in the air. Both at Nu Deco and in Amarillo, once March hit, we closed our doors and began brainstorming and making major organizational pivots, so that we could somehow find a way to get back to creating art for our communities and now, the world!

Many performances I had as a guest conductor such as the Atlanta, Virginia, and the Hawaii Symphonies as well as the Sewanee and Sun Valley Summer Festivals have been tentatively rescheduled for following seasons. I am beyond grateful that ALL of us in the industry are working hard to ensure that music continues, and the enrichment and engagement an orchestra can provide will last for more centuries to come!

We all are looking forward to being back together making live music and celebrating our communities with great composers and artists. I could not be more proud of the work we are doing in Miami and in Texas to continue to face this new reality with optimism, and pivot to sharing our art and music to the world through live-streamed performances and digital concerts. I firmly believe this new path we are taking exemplifies the beautiful future ahead. We will forever benefit from the creative work we are doing now to keep music alive and well, while creating a space for future generations to be inspired by .
